3rd Annual Challenge of Color

Miss Erin from Treasures Found is hosting the 3rd Annual Challenge of Colour.  For the past couple of years I have watched as participants have combined their talent with their imagination meeting the challenge set.  So this year I am one of the 80 participants!  Erin has joined forces with Brandi Hussey the awesome palette guru, they collaborated using pictures from earth art to create the palettes for the challenge.

I was sent two palettes, however couldn't resist the depth of the colours of Mississippi Delta!

After playing around with colours over the past couple of weeks - this is the result, I'll let the pictures do the talking.  The art bead is by the wonderful Vanessa from Bead Up A Storm

Please visit the other participants blogs! You will be engrossed and amazed at the range of the colour spectrums and the incredible talent that has joined this years challenge!

Emerald Baguette Colour Swatch

"A livelier emerald twinkles in the grass ... a purer sapphire melts into the sea" ... Tennyson

I have a quest.  My quest is to discover unusual beads and stones that you will not source through the normal bead suppliers.  I was delighted when I recently discovered these vintage emerald baguettes!

My warp is loomed and I am incredibly excited to commence on another loomy journey.  The colours are incredibly inspirational and I can't wait to create a new design with the baguettes as the centre focal of the next loomed cuff.

Colour swatch which has already changed slightly  ... stay tuned for more pics soon!

Colour Swatch - Silver

Every cloud has a silver lining

I am on a roll - a silver roll .... I love using monochromatic colours and seeing what designs evolve.  At the moment I am in love with silver tones.  I am in the throes of creating four cuffs utilising these tones over the course of the next couple of weeks ... here are some of the beads that I have collected for this exercise

My Place ... My Inspiration

“The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most. ” ― John Ruskin

This weeks inspiration is my coats or should I say pashminas of many colours!  I have finally found the perfect bamboo ladder (which I made myself!) of which is both a visual pleasure and quick and easy to access!
